The course covers off the skills and knowledge required to support shot firing operations in civil construction, coal mining (open cut), metalliferous mining (open cut), drilling and extractive sectors. It includes checking blast holes, handling explosives, accessories, and priming, loading, stemming, and tying in (timing) explosives.
Delivered over one day either face to face or via our zoom online platform by highly experienced industry professionals with over 30yrs of combined and extensive industry experience, the materials, experiences, and real-life information will be beneficial to a range of attendees.

Course content will cover, plan, and prepare for supporting shotfiring, Provide support at blast site, types of explosives, Storage, transport, and handling awareness, on bench practices/processes, blastplan contents and more.

This course is aligned to RIIBLA201E - Support shotfiring operations.  If you successfully complete the assessment work on course, plus the on-site practical components, you will be issued Statement of Attainment RIIBLA201E - Support shotfiring operations.  The Statement of Attainment will be nationally recognised and a valuable addition to any surface blasting professionals CV.
